We are pleased to announce the release of our 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva.
It comes exclusively from the Montecalvi Alto vineyard, which was planted to Sangiovese in 1990, and we only made two barrels of this wine from the excellent 2019 vintage. This particular vineyard tends to give us cleaner, more compact Sangiovese grapes, and we fermented them in small batches with a higher percentage of whole clusters than in our Chianti Classico. The wine was aged for 24 months in old tonneaux, so there is very little influence of wood so as to achieve maximum purity and elegance. It is available now at a price of 29.50 euros per bottle. (Please note that quantities are limited).
We are also very pleased to present the new VV 2016 vintage. This vintage is in line with other VV vintages and combines structure and elegance in true harmony. L’annata 2016 è stata descritta come un’ottima annata in Toscana, il che non è scontato dopo la travolgente annata 2015. Tasting the two wines side by side, we can already see that the 2016, although both excellent, has slightly more lively acidity, indicating its ability to age. The 2016 VV is available in very limited quantities at 55.00 euros per bottle.
