Alta Valle della Greve – IGT / 2021

This IGT denomination tracks the valley along the Greve River, from its source on Mount Querciabella, northwards past our front gate and onwards to the Arno. Montecalvi produced an AVG in the past (the last vintage year was 1996) and we decided that it was only right to reintroduce this wine now in celebration of our specific terroir. Our new interpretation of the AVG is a blend in equal measures of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Long maceration, followed by 48 months in French oak tonneaux. We produce 2,500 bottles per year.
