Chianti Classico Riserva – DOCG / 2019

We introduced Montecalvi’s first Chianti Classico Riserva in 2018 (to great acclaim, as it happens). 100% Sangiovese grapes, fermented with 30% whole bunches and a long maceration of 90+ days. The wine then spends 24 months in French oak barrels, gaining complexity and depth.
The label was painted by renowned local artist, Sandro Granucci. It is called ‘Equilibrio Ecologico’, the sculpture of which is at Montecalvi. We will only offer the Riserva in the best of years and even then in only limited amounts — 1,000 bottles per year.
