We are also pleased to introduce you to our first Rosato wine. We have, as you know, offered a white wine in the past but, because we do not grow our own white grapes, we were always at the mercy of the availability of quality fruit.
With Elena now in the cantina, she suggested that we beat that problem by making our own Rosato from our own Sangiovese, which we now have done under the label ‘Palmira’ (after my mother, Palmira Tosolini). It is a wonderful colour, with notes of red berries like strawberries and raspberries, crisp and refreshing, with a bright acidity and a smooth, lingering finish. A perfect drink (maybe even for an aperitivo – as to which see more below) in this warmer weather.
