2020 is an outstanding year for olives in Tuscany. The olive harvest can fluctuate significantly from one year to the next depending on pruning cycles, weather patterns and of course the numerous risks that can arise when farming organically, but this year the quality is truly 5-star and the trees have borne fruit generously.

At Montecalvi, we have 300 olive trees, divided almost evenly into three cultivars: Correggiolo, Frantoio and Moraiolo.  These indigenous varieties yield an oil full of backbone and spice; the perfect foil for winter ingredients such as grains, pulses, root vegetables and slow-cooked food. Our freshly pressed oil is packed full of high concentrations of polyphenols to support you through the Winter – just what we need (this year in particular).
